Recent observations have shown that Nigeria might be experiencing a heat wave. Environmental experts are blaming it on the rapid deforestation and degradation of Nigeria’s rainforest and urging residents to reduce the amount of time they stay in the sun. One of such experts: Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris said:
"Lagos is currently experiencing heat wave, which is a prolonged period of excessively and abnormally hot weather with temperature exceeding 32.2oc and it is usually accompanied by humidity that usually lasts for at least one day but could last several days to weeks. Continuous exposure to this excessive heat is dangerous and could cause problems such as heat rash, heat stress, heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke.”
He also asked people to drink plenty water and avoid drinks that contain alcohol and caffeine, use protective gadgets such as hat or umbrella, sunglasses and sunscreen, take cold baths and leave water to dry on the skin, as well as never leave children and pets inside closed cars.

Beauty queen
Jenna Talackova a Miss Universe Canada-to-be was disqualified. The 23-year-old Canadian bombshell was eliminated from running for the Donald Trump pageant for being born biologically male.
The 6-foot-1 beauty, who was named a finalist among 65 candidates, had undergone sexual reassignment surgery, which is supposed grounds for elimination by the organization. In a statement released Friday, Miss Universe Canada said that Talackova “did not meet the requirements to compete” after specifying she was born female on her application.
National director of Miss Universe Canada Denis Davila told
The Toronto Star that while they consider Talackova to be a “real girl,” Miss Universe rules stipulate that contestants must be a “naturally born female.”
While some have applauded her participation in the pageant, others have argued that the competition should be limited to those who were born biologically female. In a society where the definition of beauty is constantly changing, was Talackova’s disqualification from Miss Universe Canada justified?

I bet you didn’t think
President Obama is fashion savvy. The President has just launched a new set of polish for his re-election campaign. The line is a part of the President’s “Runway to Win” campaign swag and features three colors that symbolize American pride - Ready To Win, Bo Blue, and Victory White, inside a black carrying case featuring the President’s 2008 horizon logo. The patriotic set created by Richard Blanch of Le Métier de Beauté.
Richard Blanch reportedly spent $10,000 to create the sets which will cost $40 a pop. The price might be more than you’d typically spend on polish, but it’s one of the cheapest ways to support the campaign effort which also features bags, t-shirts, scarves and more apparel from top-notch designers like Vera Wang, Diane von Furstenberg, Tory Burch, and Beyoncé and her mom Tina Knowles.

The idea of wearing something sheer may either intrigue or scare the average fashionista. However, sheer tops are a romantic and feminine way to dress up any outfit as long as you put something underneath.
These delicate, airy tops are comfortable to wear and easy to layer. Whether you decide to wear a sheer blouse or a sheer tank, you want to avoid having a “stripper moment” that is get caught baring it all in public.
Before you grab a sheer top without putting a bra underneath, we have a few ways to make your sheer tops fun and not trashy.
Put It Over a Top: You can add texture to a basic solid colored tank or camisole by layering it with a sheer top. Or, you can pair a simple sheer top with a pattern tank.
Pair with a Blazer: You can wear a buttoned blazer with a sheer top underneath.
Let Your Bra Be the Highlight: If you want to be bold and sexy without going too far, you can wear a bra underneath a sheer top. To up your style game, look for dark colored or embellished bras instead of matching it with an everyday bra.
See through tops are perfect for a night out on the town or a casual outing. Depending on the level of transparency, the sheer blouse trend can transition into work apparel as well. When sheer is executed correctly, it gives a sultry vibe to your overall look.

The leading African, all-gloss fashion bible,
Complete Fashion is out with its
March Edition and what an edition it is !This edition makes a clean break from the magazine's custom colour-block background; very racy, dripping with sexiness and who better to put on such a cover than the opinionated, controversial, daring and oh-so-sexy actress
Tonto Dike.
Tonto Dike is one star personality that has continued to push the envelope, not caring for anyone else's standards but hers and she tell it all in her photographs and interviews. In a sharp contrast, the male cover gives us dark, brooding, Nigerian-born American actor
Gbenga Akinnagbe who tells of his triumphs in much vaunted Hollywood.
The edition's fashion/beauty spread insert features Face of Sleek Winner 2011, Alexandra and boasts of much-loved staples; the hottest trends of Autumn/Winter fashion and the notoriously hilarious Fashion Jury.
A must-buy keepsake as always!
